A Gorgeous Golden Hour Heaton House Farm Wedding

A Relaxed, Joyful Heaton House Farm Wedding — A Day Filled With Laughter, Candlelight & Dance‑Floor Mayhem

There’s something special about Heaton House Farm. No matter how many times I photograph here, the place always feels fresh — the light, the space, the way couples make it their own. This wedding was no exception. From the calm of morning prep to the wild energy of the evening party, the whole day was packed with warmth, personality, and those blink‑and‑you‑miss‑them moments I love capturing. Unlike some of the summer weddings I’ve photographed here, this day had that perfect golden‑hour glow that Heaton House Farm is famous for.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you so so much for our pictures! They are absolutely beautiful we couldn’t be happier with them!

Thank you again for everything
— Ashleigh and David

Morning Prep & A Beautifully Personal Ceremony

The day began with a relaxed morning at the venue, the kind where excitement quietly builds and everyone moves at their own pace. The ceremony was full of emotion — the kind that fills a room softly but powerfully. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple said their vows beneath soft draping and warm light, setting the tone for everything that followed.

The bride looked incredible in her gown from Brides by Natalie — elegant, detailed, and absolutely perfect for the setting.

A Botanical, Candlelit Reception Space

The reception room looked breath-taking thanks to Tamaryn’s Treasures, who transformed the space into a romantic, botanical haven. Cascading floral trees, soft draping, warm candlelight, and thoughtful styling touches brought everything together beautifully.
The top table was a real show‑stopper — tall candles, loose greenery, and elegant white florals running the full length of the table. Each guest table had its own personality too, with Table Six styled in lush greenery, gold‑rimmed votives, and crisp white place settings.

Incredible Food by Stable Yard Catering

The wedding breakfast was served by the brilliant team at Stable Yard Catering, who delivered beautifully presented, delicious food that had guests talking long after the plates were cleared.

Speeches Full of Heart (and Plenty of Laughter)

Speeches are always one of my favourite parts of the day, and this wedding delivered. Guests clapped, laughed, wiped away the odd tear, and fully embraced every moment. One of my favourite frames from this part of the day is the bride reacting to a particularly funny line — pure joy, completely unposed.

Cake Cutting… and a Little Icing Mischief

The cake was a gorgeous three‑tier design dressed with fresh flowers and a gold topper. The couple cut it with huge smiles — and then the bride decided to take things one step further by licking icing straight off the knife. A tiny moment, but one that says everything about how fun and relaxed the day felt.

Photobooth Chaos & The Crazy Cup Game

As the evening rolled in, the photobooth became an absolute magnet. PictureBlast brought the fun with inflatable guitars, wigs, novelty glasses, umbrella hats — you name it, someone wore it.
The Crazy Cup Game made an appearance too, and it was every bit as chaotic and competitive as you’d expect. These are the moments that make a wedding feel alive: friends doubled over laughing, people you’ve never met becoming instant teammates, and the kind of silliness that only happens after a few drinks.

A Magical First Dance

The first dance took place on the white dance floor, surrounded by guests and bathed in purple and pink lighting. It was intimate, romantic, and full of movement — the kind of dance where the couple forgets the room for a moment and just enjoy being together.

The atmosphere was lifted even further by Cheshire Wedding DJs, who kept the energy high and the dance floor full all night long.
From there, the night exploded. Guests danced with kids holding toy guitars, groups formed circles, people laughed until they cried, and the couple threw themselves into every second. These are the frames that always end up being favourites — the unfiltered, unposed, end‑of‑night energy that tells the real story of a wedding.

And yes, the night ended exactly as it should: with the bride and groom doing shots with their friends. A perfect full‑stop on a day that never stopped giving.
