HEATON HOUSE FARM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

It was such a joy photographing Charlotte and James’s wedding — the whole day had this brilliant mix of relaxed fun and a playful superhero theme that suited them perfectly. The rustic charm of Heaton House Farm blended with bold comic‑book colours, and it just worked. The flower girls turning up in tiny capes set the tone straight away, and the ceremony room was full of little Marvel and DC touches that made every candid moment feel that bit more personal.

Later on, guests headed to the vintage fairground carousel, and that gave us some amazing opportunities. The movement, the lights, the confetti — it all came together to create images that feel full of energy but still honest and emotional. The final gallery has that balance I love: natural, stylish photographs that tell the story of a day that was completely “them.”

The portraits in the water gardens have a quieter, more cinematic feel. The reflections, the soft ripples, the gentle light — they create frames that feel timeless without being overly posed. I guide couples just enough to help them feel comfortable, then let the space and the moment do the rest. Those first portraits after the ceremony always have something special about them: the calm, the closeness, the little looks you share when it all sinks in.

As the reception gets going, the atmosphere shifts again. Cake cutting is always a sweet, slightly chaotic moment — perfect for genuine laughter and close‑up reactions. And the first dance… that’s usually where everything slows down. The room fades, and it becomes just the two of you. I focus on the emotion, the gestures, the way the light wraps around you so the photos feel as meaningful as the memory.

Then the music changes, the formalities drop away, and the dance floor comes alive. That’s when guests really let go. I love capturing that part of the night — the big group moments, the unexpected solos, the carefree joy that carries right through to the last dance.
