Hello, and welcome to Stephen McGowan Photography. My style is very relaxed as I like to photograph your day in a documentary style as it plays out, allowing you to be yourselves during the day.
I love to tell each and every story individually as every wedding is unique to the two of you, and capture all the moments through the day: laughs, cries, hugs and dancing; it’s all part of the story of your day.

Every wedding is unique, as is every couple. I therefore tailor my approach to represent your wedding day as best I can from start to finish. Therefore the story told from your photographs is your unique to you and your wedding. 

I understand that one couple's priority photograph may be an intimate embrace with grandma and another couple's must have photo may be a stylish portrait of the two of you out on the grounds of your luxury wedding venue. Some couples want to spend a long time taking portraits and others just want natural pictures start to finish. I take the time to get to know you, and see what makes you 'click' before we meet up again on your wedding day.

   FULL DAY COVERAGE

I offer full day coverage as standard for all of my wedding packages. From bridal preparation through to the evening's partying, I am with you for the full day. As additionals I do also offer a second photographer as a part/full day extra. This allows for the groom preparation to be documented and also allows for a second photographer throughout the day, giving you a more complete story and picking up on extra moments which could otherwise be missed. 

My main aim in wedding photography is to tell a story from beginning to end and allow you to relive your day through the photographs. I therefore feel it's important to be there from the moment you begin to get ready through until the partying at night.There's no better way to re-live your special day than by turning the pages of your fine quality wedding album and experiencing the moments time after time.

NATURAL AND CONTEMPORARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

My style of photography is focused on telling a story of your day, therefore I strive to capture as much of the natural day as possible. Photographs with true emotion and meaning which represent your day from start to finish are the images I try to achieve. Having worked as a Cheshire wedding photographer for the past seven years, this natural and relaxed reportage style is one I have perfected.

I also love to capture natural and contemporary portraits. You can develop some amazing photographs by being yourselves without having the awkwardness or forced poses. I make sure my newlywed couples are comfortable in front of the camera and so it is this relaxed relationship which shines through in your photographs. My portraits are about the my newly married couples on their special day while illustrating the love they have for one another. Throughout the day I work unobtrusively in the background which allows it to unfold as naturally as possible.

If your wedding is outside of Cheshire, that's absolutely not a problem! I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings outside of Manchester, along with many destination weddings taking me over Europe and beyond, and so distance really isn't an issue for me.

That's exactly right! Cheshire holds some of the best wedding venues in the UK from the 'grand hall' country venues to luxury hotels and quirky tipi weddings and marquees. Cheshire hosts a range of award winning wedding venues and suppliers where you can exchange your vows outdoors in the resplendent gardens of a grade II listed manor house - (or even a castle!) if you like, or have hold your nuptials surrounded by your closest friends and family in a rustic barn setting. There is great flexibility for weddings and events across Cheshire, there really is something for every newlywed couple to enjoy. 

There are always open days and offers taking place in locations across the county, so be sure to keeps tabs on reception venues websites for packages and an information handbook. Open days help guide you through your wedding day and allow you to meet up with planners, registrars and venue dressers who will be more than happy to help with any questions you may have. Open days also allow you to meet recommended suppliers such as the venue's regular pianist or string quartet to play your beloved signature song as you walk down the aisle. From cake makers and magicians to dance floor entertainment and wedding car hire companies, there's a great range of suppliers ready to give you inspiration for your own special wedding day. 

If you feel you'd like to travel further afield, be sure to check out wedding reception venues in Lancashire and the Wirral, or perhaps more further afield as the Lake District and North Wales.
